Temporary Extension of Expired Vehicle Documents

Vehicle Inspection

The NZTA has announced a temporary extension of expired vehicle documents during the COVID-19 lockdown. This includes Warrant of Fitness (WOFs), Certificate of Fitness (COFs), driver licences, drivers licence endorsements & vehicle certifications. There is more information on their website and on this question and answer sheet.

The NZTA has also released a TWIRL checklist – these are things you can check that your car is safe to drive while you aren’t getting a warrant of fitness or taking it to a garage.
